Access by air
Liszt Ferenc International Airport Budapest is 16 km south-east from the city centre and about 15 km (20 minutes) from the venue HUNGEXPO. You can access the city centre from the airport by taxi service, airport shuttle bus, public transport (Bus 100E, Bus 200E) or car.
Public transport
Budapest has an extensive public transport network. It is operated by the company BKK (Budapesti Közlekedési Központ / Centre for Budapest Transport). The service includes buses, trolleybuses, trams, underground railway, metro, above ground suburban trains (HÉV) and funicular railway. These have several lines throughout the city. Approaching HUNGEXPO:
Metro: Hungexpo is located between 2 metro stops (Pillangó utca and Örs vezér tere). If you are coming from the city centre with the M2 metro you will have 2 options:
- Get off at Örs vezér tere metro station where the dedicated Hungexpo bus 10, departs. The route of bus 10 goes around Hungexpo. The stops for this bus are either one of the above-mentioned metro stations or one of the Hungexpo gates. Please get off at Gate 2 to get to the Congress.
- Get off at Pillangó utca metro station and walk for about 20 minutes to Gate 2 entrance.

Bus: If you approach Hungexpo by public transport, Bus 10 is passing on a round way from Örs Vezér Tere metro station around HUNGEXPO and basically stops at each gate.

We are delighted to inform you that a limited number of transportation tickets will be distributed at Congress centre (registration area) on a first-come first-served basis. The tickets are valid for 72 hours, from 7 to 9 April 2024.
Transportation supported by Gedeon Richter and Recordati
Gedeon Richter and Recordati provides free shuttle services from the metro station M2 Örs Vezér Tere – Square (same location as Bus 10) to the Congress centre (Gate II). The buses will continuously operate during the following time slots.
Taxi service
City taxi is Hungexpo’s dedicated taxi company. The company creates a taxi rank at an agreed place (preferably near to the registration area). At the taxi desk delegates can easily order taxis. The taxi company can also provide cards, with which congress delegates can travel on a discounted rate anywhere in the city.
Hungary VISA Requirements:
Hungary is part of the border-free Schengen Area, which guarantees free movement to more than 400 million EU citizens, including non-EU nationals. This makes moving around Europe easy, whether for work, study or other similar purposes.
To be allowed to enter Hungary, you must meet the following requirements:
- Enter through an authorized border point.
- Demonstrate that you meet the conditions for the proposed stay and have sufficient financial resources.
- You are not banned from entering Hungary.
Required Documents to Show at the Port of Entry in Hungary
When entering Hungary, you will need to show the following documents, depending on your nationality:
- EU nationals: Valid passport or national ID card.
- Non-EU nationals who are visa-exempt: Valid passport or travel document.
- Non-EU nationals with visa requirements: Valid passport with a Schengen or a Hungarian national visa.
Additionally, non-EU travellers showing up at the Hungarian port of entry may be asked to present the following documents in order to be allowed to enter Hungary:
- Cash or documents that prove of sufficient funds for the entire stay in Hungary.
- A round-trip ticket to Hungary and back.
- Travel insurance coverage for the entire stay in Hungary.
Ensure that the Hungarian border officer stamps your passport if you are permitted to enter. Without a stamp, you could be fined or detained in Hungary.
